John Cox is The Bahamas' foremost cultural curator, artist, and institution builder. A Rhode Island School of Design graduate, he served as Chief Curator of the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas before becoming vice president of arts and culture at Baha Mar — the first role of its kind in a major Caribbean economic development.
In 2022, Rosewood Hotels named him their inaugural PlaceMaker at Rosewood Baha Mar. The founder of Popopstudios International Center for the Visual Arts, Cox has spent three decades expanding what Bahamian art can be.

FUZE Caribbean Art Fair

FUZE, directed by Cox, is a first-of-its-kind regional art fair whose inaugural event was held at Baha Mar as part of the 2023 Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival. It is a dynamic showcase of contemporary Caribbean art, bringing together visionary artists, curators, and collectors to celebrate the region’s rich cultural landscape. From bold mixed-media pieces to thought-provoking conceptual works, the fair bridges tradition and modernity, pushing the boundaries of Caribbean visual expression. As a premier platform for emerging and established talent, FUZE highlights the diversity, innovation, and storytelling that define Caribbean visual culture.
The FUZE Art Fair is the largest multidisciplinary collaboration of artists and galleries in the Caribbean. Beyond the vast number of artist and gallery exhibitions, FUZE offers a host of interactive classes, art demonstrations, and artist talks lead by the Caribbean’s most influential artists and cultural avant-garde.
